Minimize material needed for providing societal needs and improving well-being
Kranti Navare obtained her master's degree in the Department of Bioscience Engineering, at KU Leuven, in 2017. For her master's thesis, she worked on finding the influence of forest diversity on its carbon storage capacity to guide better management of forests to mitigate climate change. As a logical step, she shifted from studying forests to studying sustainable management of forest-based products in her PhD. Kranti completed her PhD at KU Leuven in association with VITO in 2022. In her PhD, she developed a framework to assess the material circularity of the cascading use of wood. She currently works as a post-doctoral researcher and would like to use her expertise - in building CE monitors - to apply them to different sectoral applications.
