Bio
An Vercalsteren has been working for VITO since 1997 and is research team lead in the unit Sustainable Materials management. In this role, she is responsible for drafting and realising roadmap assessment methods & indicators. Besides this, she also coordinates projects, works on extending and maintaining networks and is actively contributing to multiple research projects. She has a broad expertise in life cycle thinking (LCA), input-output analysis, value chain analysis, sustainable production and consumption, circular economy and indicators. An is Deputy Manager of the European Topic Center Circular Economy (ETC/CE), where she is responsible for monitoring the CE. An obtained her degree as industrial engineer in the electromechanics in 1994.
