I consider circular economy as a part of the solution for a problem that concerns all of us. Connecting the loose ends and transforming them into our foundations. It sounds logical, and logics often solves problems.
Gwenny Thomassen is a postdoctoral researcher, specialized in economic and environmental impact analyses of new technologies. She obtained a master degree of the Faculty of Bio-engineering Sciences of KU Leuven with a specialization in Resource Economics and Policy. She obtained a PhD in Applied Economic Sciences at Hasselt University, in collaboration with VITO. In this PhD she integrated techno-economic and life cycles analyses at different levels of technology development and she applied this on case studies of microalgae-based biorefineries.
